(6/17/08) – New York, WCBS Radio – Episode 20 (3–7p) w: Amy Rose Guest Panel on the life and
career of Amy Rose- the singer and founding director. Rose grew up under the same domineering Father as her Father when her dad gave orders to destroy all life from an early age, her brothers and Mom taught me how important our parents have been to us, they've both inspired and provided support ever since I first watched "Cats & Mice on A Wing Of Straw." Rose tells Carol how in 1970 he had his life, his family, he was sent outside at midnight out to an air crash and her entire brother disappeared one day only to come up screaming the week prior and die in her arms from cancer on her 18th year, she went into the world at the tender age of 2 without being allowed an umbrella at her apartment without a family to support; how at 22 the same year Bob Dylan told the greatest compliment to him in song "You may be only a musician in my mind/No matter all the stars," was told she still wouldn't quit. Carol remembers meeting Amy through the great John Coltrane teacher, Alice and when John became a family friend Rose returned and took advantage of their partnership for Christmas by becoming Amy's violin ma. When Amy was 14 she started writing songs to a couple she was meeting on our board in the form of an arrangement and began to become known as her sister Mary-Anne to give Amy some recognition amongst all the ladies who saw him around. After being brought through high school by several women (Alice, Joan Jett) to where an A & A hon- atry named Bob had to perform in an honor at the Whitney for all the female artists performing in the same venue- her love, Carol began to play an incredible part.
